Professor Patra, an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, has made notable contributions to the institution over the years. His leadership journey includes serving as the Dean of Alumni Affairs and International Relations from 2007 to 2013 and as Deputy Director from 2021 to 2024.
With an academic foundation rooted in excellence, Professor Patra completed his BTech (1984), MTech (1986), and PhD (1990) at IIT Kharagpur. He has been a faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering since 1987 and currently holds the position of Professor with Higher Academic Grade Pay.
